This is me, Sophie Herter, Founder of Wiau Portrait

Hello, I’m Sophie, your favorite pet photographer in Switzerland.

 

I live in the Zurich area with my long-term partner and our two wonderful cats, Sunny and Fritzi. Sunny has been by our side for eight years, while Fritzi has been enriching our lives for two years. You’ll definitely come across them in some of my images from time to time.

 

I spent my childhood and teenage years in northern Germany by the Baltic Sea. During that time, my guinea pig Willi and my cat Tildi were my loyal companions.

 

Animals have always been — and continue to be — an essential part of my life.

 

I think you already know about the powerful emotions, that animals can evoke in us humans.

 

My passion for portrait photography began in my teenage years. With my first camera and a small group of friends, I gained a great deal of hands-on experience early on.

 

Over the years, I continued to grow and explore different areas of photography. I photographed landscapes, families, couples, children, pregnancies, weddings — and of course, animals.

 

This journey led me to discover and create my calling: Wiau Portrait.

In my full-time, self-employed work, I bring together my deep love for animals, my boundless creativity, my high standards of quality, and my greatest passion — photography.
