Any questions?

For many people, a fine art photo shoot at home is something very special—and perhaps even their first of its kind. That’s why it’s perfectly normal to have questions before booking.

Here you’ll find answers to the most frequently asked questions. If you still have any questions, I look forward to hearing from you.

Frequently Asked Questions

My dog can’t sit on its own or do any tricks. Is that a problem?

Not at all. Patience, calmness, and empathy are an important part of my work. Together, we’ll create a relaxed atmosphere where authentic portraits can be captured—without any need for perfection.

My cat is very shy. Can you still photograph her?

Cats, in particular, benefit from having the shoot take place in their familiar surroundings. This allows them to feel safe, and we can create beautiful, stress-free portraits.

In my experience, this is possible as long as your cat stays in the room when visitors enter the house.

If your cat is very fearful and won’t show itself to visitors, it’s usually not possible.

How much space do you need for your mobile studio?

Often, just a few square meters are enough. Together, we’ll find the right spot in your home—I’ll bring the rest.

How long does a photo shoot take?

Every animal has its own pace. That’s why I schedule plenty of time and work without rushing. Most photo shoots last about 1 to 2 hours.

What happens if my pet is shy or very lively?

That’s perfectly fine. I’ll adapt to your pet and work with plenty of patience. Often, it’s precisely in these moments that particularly expressive portraits are captured.

Can we, as a family, be in the photo too?

Absolutely. Upon request, I’ll take not only portraits of your pet but also joint human-pet portraits.

How does the photo selection process work?

After the shoot, you’ll receive a selection of the best shots. You can take your time deciding which photos or artworks you’d like to keep. I’d be happy to offer my advice if you’d like.

When will we receive our finished photos?

Once you’ve made your selection, I’ll carefully edit each portrait by hand. The process usually takes about two to four weeks.

Where do you offer your service?

I’m happy to come to your home with my mobile studio—anywhere in Switzerland.

Travel costs around Lake Zurich are already included in the photo shoot price. For other regions, I’d be happy to provide you with a custom quote.

Just contact me—I’ll be happy to let you know about any travel costs.

How do I book my photo shoot?

It’s easy—just use the contact form. Tell me a little about yourself and your pet—I’ll get in touch with you personally, and we’ll plan your photo shoot together.

How may I use my photos?

When you purchase your photos, you receive the right to private use. This means you may use your portraits for personal purposes—for example, printing them, giving them as gifts, or sharing them on your private social media channels.

The copyright to all photos remains with Wiau Portrait Photography by Sophie Herter. Therefore, commercial use, resale, or transfer to third parties—such as companies or third-party social media accounts—is not permitted without prior consent.

Use in a business or promotional context, such as in connection with companies, brands, or discount codes, is also only permitted with an appropriate license.

I also ask that you refrain from editing the images afterward or altering them with filters. Careful image editing is an essential part of my fine art style and makes each portrait a unique work of art.

If you’d like to use your images for purposes beyond personal use, please feel free to contact me. Together, we’ll find the right solution.
